Cop27: Rishi Sunak – room for hope

UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, speaks to the summit calling for a “global mission for clean growth”.  He said there was room for hope “let’s fulfill it”.

His predecessor, Boris Johnson has spoken.  He said he is in the “spirit of Glasgow” referring to the UK hosted summit last year.

UN chief Antonio Guterres – we are Dangerously close to route of no return – Humanity has a choice  – cooperation or perish.  Calling for an early warning system operational within 5 years.  We are on a highway to hell.

The conference takes place from 6-18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

It’s understood the issue of small boats crossing the channel will be on the agenda.

The UN says progress on cutting the emissions that cause global warning has been “woefully inadequate” since COP26 in the Scottish city.

Heads of State and Government attend the Sharm el-Sheikh Climate Implementation Summit on 7 and 8 November.
