King Charles III arrives in Wales

King Charles III told the Welsh parliament that He and his mother Queen Elizabeth II shared a great love the country.

Crowds gathered across Cardiff ahead of his first official visit to Wales as monarch.

King Charles is in Wales where he received a motion of condolence from the Senedd.

He and the Queen Consort attended a prayer and reflection service for the Queen at the city’s Llandaff Cathedral.

As part of the royal couple’s final visit to the UK’s four nations, they attend an event at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay.

The King holds an audience with Wales’ First Minister Mark Drakeford at Cardiff Castle.

The First Minister he looked forward to welcoming the King on future occasions.  Also the Prince of Wales.

The King will then greet members of the public in the grounds of Cardiff Castle.

The weather is perfect!

It’s reported that Charles as a young man took special lessons to learn the Welsh language.
