King Charles officially proclaimed new monarch – historic occasion

His Majesty The King is proclaimed at the Accession Council in the State Apartments of St James’s Palace, London.  It is confirmed that the oak has been taken.

The Accession Council confirms role in historic meeting television for the first time.

Flags lowered in mourning for the late Queen will fly full-mast after the Accession Council.

Later in the day Various dignitaries arrive at Buckingham Palace for an audience with King Charles III.

The Queen, the UK’s longest-reigning monarch, died peacefully at Balmoral Castle on Thursday afternoon at the age of 96

Mourning continues throughout the nation.
