PMQs Liz Truss faces Keir Starmer – her first as Prime Minister – watch again!

Prime Minister Liz Truss confirms she will set out her package of support to help people and businesses deal with soaring energy bills tomorrow.

Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer says Liz Truss’ first act as Prime Minister is to borrow more than is needed because she won’t touch excess oil and gas profits.

Truss: she is against imposing windfall tax on energy companies’ profits adding “I believe its wrong to put companies off investing in the UK”.

Liz Truss faced Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer in her first Prime Minister’s questions.

Her new cabinet surrounded her in the House of Commons.  Liz Truss has appointed Kwasi Kwarteng as chancellor, James Cleverly as foreign secretary and Suella Braverman as home secretary.  For first time no ‘white men’ among top four positions.

In her first speech as PM, Ms Truss insisted the nation can “ride out the storm” caused by Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine.
