IOC Meets President Zelensky – more aid for Ukraine athletes – watch
International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach met with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, Sunday July 3. It was to discuss further sports aid and support for the country’s athletes.
Many of them training in poor conditions or in sports centres damaged by Russian missile attacks.
An extra USD7.5 million is being offered so that the Ukraine Olympic team can participate in future Games. Thomas Back also met athletes and saw for himself some bombed sporting facilities.
President Bach also committed to convening in Lausanne with the NOC and Sports Minister of Ukraine. This to hold a conference to discuss a Ukrainian Sport Recovery.
