Paul McCartney headlines the Pyramid stage – waves flag for Ukraine

Fans broke into a spontaneous rendition of Happy Birthday for Paul McCartney as he began the headline show at the Glastonbury festival.

But it was –Hey Jude that  won the hearts of the crowd.  It was no so much crowd pleasing as it is crowd love bombing!!

After leaving the stage with the crowd singing Hey Jude over and over, McCartney is back out and waving a Ukraine flag: the most high profile show of support at a festival admirably full of it. His band hold a rainbow Pride flag and also a Union Jack.

However, by the time Paul took to the stage the crowd stretched as far as the eye could see.  They created what could be the biggest Glastonbury audience since Dolly Parton in 2014.

So, did he do it for you?
