Olympic Movement supports Ukrainian Athletes – at home and abroad
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Sergii Bubka has visited Ukrainian athletes in his homeland. This is part of the organisation’s extensive effort to provide aid and support to competitors from the war-torn nation.
In a special mission the Olympic pole vault champion met Ukrainian athletes in the Koncha Zaspa suburb of the capital Kyiv . Bubka inspected living and training conditions during the time of crisis.
Efforts of the IOC and the Olympic Movement are being coordinated by a task force led by Mr Bubka. He was able to see for himself the conditions of the athletes.
There are more than 3.000 Ukrainian athletes hosted abroad so that they can continue their training. Many of them are of Olympic standard.
