Christopher Stalford: tributes to DUP Politician

Representatives from across the political spectrum paid tribute to DUP MLA Christopher Stalford following his sudden death.

Mr Stalford was principal deputy speaker and had represented South Belfast since 2016.  He served previously as councillor, high sheriff of Belfast and deputy mayor.

The 39 year old died over the weekend. He is survived by his wife Laura and their four children.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “Very saddened to learn of the death of Christopher Stalford MLA, a passionate and dedicated servant of the people of South Belfast.

“My thoughts are with the Stalford family at this very difficult time.”
