BRIT Awards RAYE breaks record with seven nominations

Singer-songwriter Raye received seven Brit Award nominations, a new record for one artist in a single year.

The seven time #BRITs nominee RAYE joins host Yinka Bokinni during ‘Bring On The BRITs 2024’ nominations livestream.

UK singer RAYE triumphed and received the most nominations of any artist in a single year.

The 26-year-old nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist, and both the R&B and pop categories.

She’s overtaken Craig David, Gorillaz and Robbie Williams, who previously held the joint record with six each.

Raye released her debut album independently after saying her major label refused to put it out.

Raye’s nominations include one for artist of the year, a category in which six of the 10 nominees are female.

RAYE split with her former label Polydor after claiming she was being blocked from releasing new music.  However received critical acclaim for her independently released debut, My 21st Century Blues. It hit No 2 on the UK albums chart and was later shortlisted for the Mercury Prize.
