Azeem Rafiq tells MPs about cricket racism – claims made against Yorkshire CCC

Warning: some offensive language used while giving evidence

Ex-Yorkshire Cricket player Azeem Rafiq and former chairman Roger Hutton give evidence to a Digital, Culture, Media and Sport select committee hearing.

MPs hear from Rafiq after a report found he was a victim of “racial harassment and bullying”.  Rafiq says he wants to become ‘the voice of the voiceless’.

Azeem Rafiq told MPs he was treated in an “inhuman way” by the club when his unborn son died.

Hutton, said “nobody at Yorkshire was racist” after resigning as chair on 5 November.  He answers questions on Yorkshire’s handling of the case.

The Select Committee consists of a group of MPs from all parties chaired by Julian Knight MP, Conservative.
