Amazon launches Astro the home robot – watch how it works!

Amazon launches Astro the first household robot, powered by Amazon’s Alexa smart home technology.

The company said Astro remote-controlled to check on pets, people, or home security.

Astro also patrols a home automatically and send owners notification if the robot detects something unusual.

Amazon believes it’s more than “Alexa with wheels”.  The robot programmed with a range of movements and expressions to give it personality.

The small robot also comes equipped with an extendable “periscope” camera that pops up from its head. Amazon showed an example of using it to check if a gas hob had been left on after leaving the house.

Would you like to have one?  What do you think about having a robot in the home?  Astro could be a friend.  The robot helps with keeping an eye on the home
