British Airways: Carbon neutral London/Glasgow – a flight forward

The British Airways BA1476 from London Heathrow to Glasgow Airport the airline’s first ever passenger flight powered directly by sustainable aviation fuel.

It departed Heathrow 10.36 Tuesday 14 September 2021 and arrived in Glasgow 11.28 local time.

The airline teamed up with Heathrow, air traffic service provider NATS.  Also fuel giant bp, Glasgow Airport and Airbus to operate the short carbon neutral flight.

The short journey was on the airline’s new special liveried sustainability aircraft.

The flight shows how far aviation industry has progressed in its efforts to decarbonise over the last decade.
