Self-isolation to end for double jabbed people – from August 16 – Sajid Javid

The Health Secretary made the announcement in the House of Commons.  He set out the new measures surrounding the decision.

Sajid Javid: self-isolation rules will end for people who have had two doses of covid vaccine from August 16.

Those under 18 also no longer need to self-isolate after being in close with a case.

However, those who test positive themselves: will have to self-isolate whether they have had the jab or not.

It comes just a day after Boris Johnson unveiled a wealth of new freedoms Brits can enjoy from July 19 as the country emerges from lockdown.

Mr Javid told BBC Breakfast there would be a change in the rules for double-jabbed Brits.  He also said new coronavirus case could go as high as 100,000 a day after restrictions ease.

What are your thoughts about this?  Do you believe Javid is making the right decision?  Are you happy with the changes?  Is the government heading in the right direction?
