Lord Chancellor: Rape – improving response
The Government’s Lord Chancellor Robert Buckland delivered a statement on the End-to-End Rape Review Update.
This report sets out the government’s action plan for improving the Criminal Justice System’s response to rape in England and Wales.
Rape and sexual violence are horrific and devastating crimes that can impact victims for the rest of their lives. We need to deliver for them and the public: investigating and prosecuting these crimes professionally.
Our mission is to understand why we are letting down rape victims, and to right this wrong.
Contrary to the way that rape is often depicted in the media, most of these crimes are committed by someone the victim knows.
Have you been a victim? Did you report the offence? Did you receive a good response from the authorities? Is the government doing enough for victims of rape?
