Matt Hancock leads news conference – from Downing Street – watch

Hancock: covid cases are rising and estimates show up to three quarters of new cases are now of Indian variant.

Matt Hancock told MPs he has given 84 press conferences during the pandemic and will return to Downing Street to give another one on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier, the Health Secretary faced questions over allegations made by Dominic Cummings.  He said Mr Hancock had lied and should have been sacked for 15, 20 things during the pandemic.
