Queen: A Celebration for Commonwealth Day – broadcast 7 March ahead of Oprah interview with Meghan and Harry

The Queen has paid tribute to the world’s healthcare workers amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

HM delivered her royal address on Sunday.  This hours before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey airs in the US.

The pre-recorded message marks Commonwealth Day Monday 8 March this year.

Commonwealth Day normally held on second Monday in March.  It’s celebrated with an Anglican service at Westminster Abbey.

Anita Rani introduced a celebration of Commonwealth Day from Westminster Abbey. The Queen shared the annual message, and Nitin Sawhney, Lianne La Havas, Alexis Ffrench perform.  No congregation present

However, this year due to the pandemic BBC One broadcast the show, titled A Celebration for Commonwealth Day.
