The Chancellor delivering the Budget with a mind-boggling array of problems before him.
Rishi Sunak announces it is extending the furlough scheme until the end of September in Wednesday’s Budget.
Chancellor said the scheme – which pays 80% of workers’ wages – would help millions through “the challenging months ahead”.
Rishi Sunak: £20 universal credit uplift extended for 6 months. Millions will continue to have 80% of wages paid.
Unemployment expected to peak at 6.5%.
