Julian Assange denied bail – outside court Westminster

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange denied bail by London court.  Watch the video which shows scenes of protesters and statements.

Two days after her ruling against the US extradition request, which is being challenged, district judge Vanessa Baraitser said the 49-year-old “still has an incentive to abscond from these, as yet unresolved, proceedings”. Judge said she was satisfied he would fail to surrender if bailed.

On Monday an Old Bailey judge rejected the United States’ request to extradite him to face espionage charges.

Crowds gathered in support of Julian Assange and his freedom.  Police there on stand-by should there be disturbances.  But crowd just noisy.

Do you support Julian Assange?  Should he have been bailed?  Is it time to free Assange?  Would he abscond if let free?
