Boris announces new lockdown restrictions – Downing Street @ 8pm
The Prime Minister ordered a new national lockdown for England. He delivered the instruction in a televised address to the nation about the ‘next steps’ against Covid in England.
The new measures are expected to stay in place until mid-February.
Number Ten says further steps must now be taken to address a surge in coronavirus cases.
Any new measures would tackle the rise in cases: protect the NHS and save lives.
