President of the International Olympic Committee hails the unifying power of sport and the Olympic spirit.  It comes ahead of the International Day of Peace celebrated around the world Monday September 21.

The IOC and the United Nations have a long-standing partnership.  ‘Shaping Peace Together’ is the theme the UN chose for the Day.  It also marks the 75thy anniversary of its foundation.

In the video the IOC President recalls his top three moments on history when sport a symbol of peace.

The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 now take place in 2021 and heralded a beacon of hope. This because the world continues to battle against Covid-19.
