Matt Hancock: new covid restrictions
New local lockdown measures in North East include 10pm – 5am curfew for pubs and restaurants and curbs on peak time travel. They commence midnight Thursday September 17.
In these areas residents should not socialise with people outside of their household or support bubble, he said.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced details of new restrictions for 2 million people across the north east of England after it became the latest area to see a spike in coronavirus cases.
The impacted areas: Newcastle, Gateshead, North and South Tyneside, County Durham and Sunderland
The new rules will include a ban on socialising with anyone outside households and a 10 pm curfew on pubs, restaurants and other licensed premises.
What do you think of these restrictions? Is it the way forward to control the virus in the area? Are you taking part in these restrictions? Should everyone wear a mask?
