LIVE: Spacewalk Upgrades ISS Power System

Tuesday July 21, NASA astronauts Chris Cassidy and Robert Behnken taking a spacewalk to finish a 3.5-year effort to upgrade the International Space Station’s power system. Expected to take several hours. Admire their lack of fear to go out in space and walk!  However it needs to be done and Chris and Robert are the guys to do it

Coverage will begin around 7:35 a.m. EDT, and could last up to seven hours. Cassidy and Behnken will replace ageing nickel-hydrogen batteries with new lithium-ion batteries delivered to the station on a Japanese cargo ship in May.

During this spacewalk, the last nickel-hydrogen battery will be removed from the truss and stowed.
