Boris: build build build a revolution – we need pace

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a multi-billion pound “new deal”. This for infrastructure projects to help stimulate the nation’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

Boris delivered his speech from Dudley in the West Midlands. Revival package includes £5billion projects — many in the Midlands and North.

Boris: we will have an infrastructure revolution. Build bigger, better, greener, faster. Set up a task force known as Project Speed. More homes built and enough of them across the country. Admitted that the UK had failed to build homes. Build back better, build back bolder.

PM: London leads the world but too many parts of the UK have been left behind

Other plans include spending £1.5billion on hospital repairs — and more than that on upgrading schools and colleges.
