PMQs: Boris and Keir get tough – clashes over Covid-19 issues

Prime Minister Boris Johnson may have a battle on his hands at today’s questions.  Labour leader Keir Starmer is ready to tackle the PM over his decision on easing lockdown.  He has described it as ‘mismanagement’.  Should be a good and feisty exchange.

PM on Keir Starmer: now he seems to be against steps this country is taking and is making a u-turn.

Prime Minister:  90% Covid-19 tests will be turned around within 24 hours by the end of June except for postal tests.  Covid-19 alert level will remain at four

Boris: 14 day quarantine = as we get rate of infection down it is vital we avoid reinfection from elsewhere.

PM: I think what happened in the US was appalling and inexcusable but protests should happen in a lawful way.

PM: the governent will look at all the ways it can support the aviation industry

How many MPs in the Chamber?   There were close to 50 with all of them sitting at a distance
