Boris Johnson thanks NHS – for his coronavirus recovery. Could’ve gone either way

The PM is back at work Monday 27 April after being treated for the virus.

Speaking from Chequers where he was recovering, Boris Johnson said it was hard to find the right words to express his debt as he called it. And there was more.  He wanted to thank the entire UK for the effort and sacrifice the nation is making.

He rounded up his message of gratitude by pouring praise on the nurses.  Watch video where he names two in particular.  One from New Zealand the other from Portugal.

The NHS is the beating heart of this country.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson left hospital after being treated for coronavirus, but will not immediately return to work, Downing Street says.

Mr Johnson, 55, was taken to St Thomas’ hospital, in London, on Sunday – 10 days after testing positive for the virus.  He had three nights in intensive care before returning to a ward on Thursday.  The PM continued his recovery at his country residence, Chequers.
