Scotland: Life should not feel normal – follow advice and save live

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon urged the public to follow the government’s COVID-19 advice and save lives.

Nicola Sturgeon warned that stringent new measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus should not be considered “optional”.  She said guidance about social distancing and self-isolation should be regarded as a “set of rules”.

It comes as she confirmed the number of coronavirus deaths in Scotland had reached 10, with 416 known cases. This on Sunday 22 March.

Ms Sturgeon said: “life should not feel normal”, and if it did, you should ask “if you are doing the right things”.

Scotland’s chief medical officer Dr Catherine Calderwood said cases of Covid-19 were accelerating at a faster rate than first thought.
