Coronavirus news briefing 22 March – due to start 17:00

Coronavirus news briefing 22 March – the Prime Minister Boris Johnson hosting the briefing, plus Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick and Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Jenny Harries.

Latest figures Sunday 22 March 5683 UK COVID-19 cases.  281 UKCOVid-19 deaths.

UK PM Boris Johnson says special steps must be taken to protect 1.5m vulnerable people.

Mr Jenrick says the UK’s military planners will be involved in supporting the shielded – and that everyone will have the opportunity to volunteer in the coming weeks.

We may get some details on a stricter way of life for everyone.  Social distancing not too good in London.  Mayor Sadiq Khan not happy with the overnight results of people staying at home.  He said too many were still on the streets of the capital.

Have you been practicing social distancing?  Have you stayed at Home?  Are you ignoring the guidance given about staying your distance?  Still visiting the pub?  Will we win the fight?  Does Boris Johnson have to be more strict with the regulations?  Need to have legislation to help deal with this?
