Since start of the coronavirus crisis, Professor Chris Whitty has been front and centre of the decision-making.  Also the main person with the communication of messages to the public.

Chris Whitty is  the government’s chief medical adviser. He and his colleagues know their careers will be defined by the UK’s response to the pandemic.

Sir Patrick Vallance, Chief Scientific Adviser.  Responsible for providing scientific advice to the Prime Minister and government.
