From January 1st 2014, Romanians and Bulgarians will be able to enter the UK under the free movement between EU countries. They will be in addition to others planning to come to Britain from an EU nation. The government is concerned the influx of immigrants will strain the Social Security system. It is believed that thousands are expected to arrive in the New Year. The Prime Minister at the time David Cameron warned he will veto new EU States if there are not far reaching changes to the EU’s immigration rules. ynuk.tv got some street reaction.

In 2020 the UK is out of the EU.  In January 2021 the regulations for entering the country will be different.  The Government has announced it will be adopting a point system similar to Australia. This is meant to have better control on who enters the UK.
