4 February an alert from the Foreign Office:
All Britons in China should leave the country if they can to minimise the risk of exposure to the coronavirus. Dominic Raab said it continued to work to evacuate Britons from Hubei province where the outbreak began.Commercial flights are available from other parts of China.
Mr Hancock said that testing carried out worldwide. The equipment to do this designed in Oxford. £20m made available to help speed up development of a vaccine. Some of the money is helping researchers at Porton Down. They are leading the way in developing a vaccine for Coronavirus.
If the biologists are successful, more time would still be required to test the vaccine more widely. Also to secure sign-off from medical regulators before it could be distributed across the world.
The UK’s money will also help fund the efforts of Dr Kate Broderick, a 42-year-old Scot based in California. She is working to create a coronavirus vaccine.
Together a vaccine is likely to be found. It will be used globally. Do you have relatives in China? Are you in touch with them? Let us know.
