Extinction Rebellion Tackled on Question Time. First appearance of XR on the show

The BBC’s Question Time kicked off with the question: Should climate change activists be applauded or arrested.

A good start to a lively and heated exchange of arguments over the issue.  More than 2 thousand people arrested during the protests in London.  They began Monday 7 October.  Supporters and activists joined the Extinction Rebellion demonstration threatening to close down London for two weeks.  In some areas they did.

However their actions like glueing themselves to buildings, barriers and dancing in the street has not gone down too well with some members of the public.

Fiona Bruce hosted the debate from Beckenham. Among the guests was businessman Theo Paphitis.  He couldn’t wait to tackel Rupert Read from the Univeristy of East Anglia and a leader of the Extinction Rebellion protest group.

Audience member: not a protest just a field day
