House of Commons: Boris Presents Brexit to MPs. The EU is considering its response.

Boris Johnson has outlined plans on Wednesday that would see Northern Ireland stay in the European single market for goods but leave the customs union. This would result in new customs checks.

The European Commission welcomed “advances” but said problems remained.

The PM says the UK will leave the EU on 31 October, with or without a deal.

He insists he will not ask for a further extension if no deal is reached despite legislation designed to force him to do so unless MPs pass a deal or approve a no-deal Brexit before 19 October.

It has been a calm Chamber.  The Speaker has problem with his voice so is not using it as much.  Politicians including Boris are polite to each other. It is the way exchanges should be carried out.  No more shouting and improper language.  It has been noted by some MPs and the Speaker.
