UN Climate Action Summit New York LIVE. Will they come up with ideas?  Watch the video which made headlines across the globe.

Greta Thunberg a young Climate Activist was at the Opening of the Climate Action Summit 2019.  She spoke of her anger with world leaders. She said solutions are still nowhere in sight.  Greta let rip: ‘how dare you pretend that this can be solved with just business as usual.’  She did not hesitate to tell the adults that they were still not ‘mature enough’ to tell it like it is.

The UN Secretary-General is hosting the Climate Action Summit. It is to boost ambition and accelerate action to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.  Leaders from government, the private sector and civil society will present concrete actions.  Also plans and initiatives to tackle climate change.

Climate change is the defining issue of our time.  Now is the defining moment to do something about it. There is still time to tackle climate change. But it will require an unprecedented effort from all sectors of society.

The Summit will showcase a leap in collective national political ambition.  It will demonstrate massive movements in the real economy in support of the agenda. Together, these developments will send strong market and political signals.  Also inject momentum in the “race to the top” among countries, companies.  As well as cities and civil society.  It is needed to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.

What is your reaction to this summit?  Is it a good idea?  Will world leaders find solutions? Can society help? The United Nations can lead the way. It’s a matter of listening and doing and making sure it happens.
