Half Naked Protesters Invade Commons. Twelve activists arrested
Members of Parliament in the process of discussing indicative votes on Brexit when they were interrupted by half-naked climate change protesters. They had entered the public Gallery that overlooks the Chamber.
Labour politician Peter Kyle joked that the sight was tempting his eyes elsewhere as he tried to make a speech to the Commons. He did take a sneaky look.
But the activists had a message. They demonstrated against the lack of action on environmental issues and climate change. Some glued their hands to the glass security shield.
The Extinction Rebellion group – EX also warned of protests during the International Rebellion from Monday 15 April. The activists are set to shut down central London for days on end.
