MPs Vote On Brexit Delay LIVE.  Vote 17:00.  What will happen – more resignations rather than voting?

Members of Parliament voted this evening on whether to ask the EU for permission to delay Brexit.  This would be to go beyond the 29 March departure date. The possibility of an extension will have to be approved by the EU.

The EU has responded by saying there were two ways the UK could leave – with or without a deal, adding it was ready for either outcome.

Today’s vote comes after MPs voted on Wednesday evening to reject a no-deal Brexit under any circumstances.

What a mess we’re in.  Do you agree?  Why have the politicians led us to this situation.  After all we did vote in a referendum to leave Europe. So why do we find ourselves wondering what is going on?

By the way Prime Minister Theresa May will also make a third attempt to get her EU withdrawal deal through Parliament in the next week.  But no date has been set.
