Jeremy Corbyn Tables No Confidence Motion in Theresa May. Not likely to lead anywhere
Jeremy Corbyn has tabled a motion of no confidence in Theresa May. He stood up just as the PM was about to leave the Chamber to make his announcement. She returned to her seat.
Mr Corbyn make clear it was not acceptable that MPs would not vote on her Brexit deal until the week of 14 January. This had to change.
The PM delayed the vote from last week, admitting she was set to lose.
Labour leader Mr Corbyn pointed out Monday it was unacceptable for MPs to wait a month to vote. The PM had led the UK into a “national crisis”.
But No 10 say it would not make time for the no-confidence vote.
An amazing political situation. Critics have described this latest development on Brexit and No Confidence Motion as a mess for the parties. It has not helped Labour. But senior conservatives already moved to say they will support the PM.
Is it all back-firing?
