Aretha Franklin Tribute.  BBC One Show invited Kingdom Choir to sing Aretha’s ‘Say A Little Prayer’.  In recognition of a wonderful, powerful singer.

Aretha Franklin, the “queen of soul” known for hits like Respect and Think, has died in Detroit at the age of 76.

The legendary singer was diagnosed with cancer in 2010.  She announced last year she was retiring from music.

Franklin won 18 Grammys, and had 17 Top Ten US chart hits over a music career spanning seven decades.

The star gave her final performance last November at a gala in New York held in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation.

In a statement, her family said: “In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart.

“We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins knew no bounds.”

The family also confirmed her death was due to advanced pancreatic cancer of the neuroendocrine type.

Sadly missed across the globe.

Funeral ceremony

Now, lets take a look at twitter reaction after the bishop who led Aretha Franklin’s funeral ceremony was accused of groping Ariana on stage.  The artist was embraced by Bishop Charles H Ellis III who sang at the service. He is accused of placing his hand in the wrong place on her chest.

The preacher said he hugged all artists, male or female, during the ceremony commemorating the Queen of Soul.  He publicly apologised.

But viewers began posting images from the service when Ariana got up to sing Aretha’s song (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.

A shame the incident happened especially on such an occasion.

What are your thoughts about it.  Total disrespect or not?   Let us know.  Drop us a line in our comment box below.
