California Highway 1 Reopens

California Highway 1 Reopens.  ‘Dream Drive’ celebrate grand reopening of iconic road through California’s Central Coast. Video opens with stunning scenes from Bixby Creek Bridge near Monterey, Calif.

A caravan of more than 80 cars, classic to contemporary, take a ‘dream drive’ from Monterey to Morro Bay.

For more than 80 years, California’s iconic drive has called to adventurous travelers, and after more than a year of not being fully accessible, the roadway is fully reopened — and better than ever.

To help celebrate this historic milestone, an unprecedented convoy of more than 80 vehicles from the 1930s to present day went on a drive down the coast – from Monterey County to San Luis Obispo County.

In the video you will take the coastal journey through Monterey, San Simeon, and Morro Bay.

The iconic highway reopened in late July, 2018, after more than 18 months of roadway closures.  This resulted in tremendous economic losses for businesses along the iconic corridor, especially in northern San Luis Obispo County as travellers rerouted their trips en masse.

Now we know that it is a popular route especially for British tourists.  So take the ride head for the Golden State and have some fun on the road.  It’s got to be one of the best holiday trips to take in America.
