Tina Turner Opens Her Show at the Aldwych. She received rapturous applause when the curtain rose to reveal the iconic singer. A rare public appearance

The musical has been given rave reviews across the board by theatre critics.

Phyllida Lloyd’s musical, being shown at London’s Aldwych theatre shows performer Adrienne Warren take on the lead role of Tina, who is now aged 78.

Tina had a message for the audience:  It is possible to turn poison into medicine.  Have a nice evening.

The story follows Anna Mae-Bullock Tina’s birth name and her rise to the top from humble beginnings in Tennessee.  When she was a teen her Grandmother sent her to rejoin her estranged mother and sister in St Louis.  There she met singer Ike Turner who would become her husband of 16 years and musical partner.

After her brief appearance on stage, Tina joined the audience to watch actress Adrienne Warren take hold of the show as Tina Turner.

Fans of Tina Turner are going to love the musical. Hearing the great hits again is glorious.
