UK Snow – it has got to be one of the most unusual weeks in the history of weather in the UK.  It has been blamed on the Beast From the East. In other words Siberia.  We also have Storm Emma and two have come together with Emma now causing most effect.

The Met Office has lifted its red warning but there are ten alerts in place across the UK.  The final warning is in force until 23:55 GMT on Monday.

Freezing rain is latest danger.  This leaves ice on the ground that will cause very slippery conditions.  Care needs to be taken.

All this as more heavy snow and winds are causing major disruption across the UK.  Snow will fall in the North Ease and more persistent in the South.  Do not travel unless necessary.

A number of police forces have warned against driving because of poor visibility and treacherous conditions, leading to crashes and stranded motorists.

Hundreds of schools remain closed in south Wales, southern England and Scotland.

Temperatures in most areas continue at below zero.
