Winners Citizen Journalism Competition – led by London Voices 2017 – Inspired talent.

The winners of the 2017 Citizen Journalism Competition showed talent that spanned print, photography, video and broadcasting.

They are: Louisa Naks who won first prize, Guilia Bassanese second and Seren Morris third.

All of them live in London and received cash bursary prizes of up to £2,000. The money awarded by The Media Society and London Learning Consortium.

Due to the success of London Voices, the competition is running again in 2018.  It is one of the first competitions of its kind in London for citizen journalism.  The competition will run until 21st May. It is open to anyone over 14 who lives, works or studies in Greater London.  And is not a full-time paid journalist.

Journalism is a profession that requires a strong interest in the community. In the Capital, there is a demand for more diverse and local news.  It has a population of nearly 9 million.  Citizen journalism can fill that demand.  Editors always on the look out for good stories.
