However, both lost appeals against ban of football related activities. The bans imposed following an investigation by the Ethics Committee. It also means the long career of Blatter as a football administrator is over.

Blatter is being questioned by Swiss investigators on suspicion of criminal misappropriate payments over a TV rights deal and a “disloyal payment” to European football chief Michel Platini.

Sepp Blatter, was angry when arrests of Fifa officials were made in Zurich on charges of bribery and corruption submitted by US lawyers.  He launched an attacked on the US Justice system and the British Media for what he said was a deliberate attempt to have him ousted.

He had denied claims that he authorised a $10m bribe to disgraced former Fifa vice-president Jack Warner which was alleged in the recent US indictment.
