Prince Charles has launched a scheme to help create a two-million strong army of young people to stop a “lost generation” drifting into crime and unemployment.
The initiative is expected to roll out as soon as possible.
Writing in the Mail on Sunday the Prince of Wales said street murders can happen because young people lack structured activities. He was inspired to encourage volunteering after meeting Barry and Margaret Mizen, whose teenage son Jimmy was murdered in 2008.
