SKY NEWS LIVE OVER – Cave Rescue Thailand. RESCUE OPERATIONS RESUME 9 JULY as divers and equipment prepare for next stage. Eight youngsters have been freed from the cave and safe in hospital.
Head of Cave rescue says workers need ‘about 10 hours to prepare for next operation’.
Group of 12 boys, aged 11 to 16, and their football coach had been trapped since 23 June. British divers talked to boys July 2.
Experts say operation could be one of the greatest rescues in history.
Divers are guiding the group through darkness and submerged passageways towards the mouth of the Tham Luang cave system.
So far it has been moving much faster than officials had earlier predicted. But rains have arrived and difficult to assess how rescue operation will progress.
The group and their families had all given their agreement that they should be moved as soon as possible, said Mr Narongsak earlier.
Friends and relatives say the boys are fit and resilient. Medics are among the diving rescue team and have treated the boys.
Rescuers praised for their endurance and bravery. The world is watching as the operation prepares to save all the boys and football coach. An amazing scene of hope and survival
