The Clipper Race Arrives in Sanya – fabulous welcome for winners

The Clipper Race Arrives in Sanya

The Clipper Race Arrives in Sanya – a city on the southern end of China’s Hainan Island.  A great welcome from the locals

Sanya put on a welcome to remember when the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet arrived.  They got there following the 4,300 nautical mile Race 7: The Forever Tropical Paradise Race from the Whitsundays, Australia, to Sanya in China.

The welcome was glorious. Particularly for the winning British yachts taking part in the competition.

PSP Logistics took first place. Followed by Dare To Lead and Qingdao.

Home team Sanya Serenity Coast was greeted by fireworks and cheers after crossing the line in fourth.

Take a look at the exciting arrival at Sanya.  There were dancers and ‘dragons’ on the docks for the big welcome.

Sanya Serenity Coast will also feature in the next edition of the Clipper Race in 2019-20.  The location has started its recruitment process for its next ambassadors.

PSP Logistics Skipper Matt Mitchell:  We’ve been working really hard over the last few races to build an opposition. …making first place it feels amazing.

Dare To Lead Circumnavigator Charlie Garrett: Absolutely fantastic
