Luge Drama Elise Christie’s Flying Start – Day 1 – slopestyle heartbreak

Luge Drama Elise Christie's Flying Start

Luge Drama Elise Christie’s Flying Start – but their were some flops.  This is Day 1.

Watch the best of the action from day one of the Winter Olympics including Elise Christie in her 500m heat and a hair-raising men’s luge.

Not a brilliant start for Team GB.  Competition is high.  One little mistake puts an athlete out of the game.

Luge was a disaster for UK.  It went badly wrong therefore no qualification. Unfortunately no Brits made it to the final in the Snowboard Slopestyle.  It started well but things can go wrong and they did in the case of Jamie Nicholls.  Never mind.

Jamie:  I was gutted, to see 71.  I was genuinely gutted.  I felt like I was clear through the rails.  But that’s how it goes sometimes in the competition.  Today, obviously wasn’t my day.

The snow boarding slopes look fabulous.  However, they can be tricky and if not in total control  they can get the better of the athlete.  Wonderful to watch.  Extremely good camera work on the video coverage of the Winter Games.

Spectators treated to good day of sport.  The video has a mix of speed skating, snowboarding. Curling, Luge and Skiathlon.
