Carrie Gracie Co-Hosts R4 Today Show – campaigning for equal pay for equal work at the BBC.
The BBC’s China editor Carrie Gracie has resigned from her post. She cited pay inequality with male colleagues.
In an open letter, Ms Gracie accused the corporation of having a “secretive and illegal pay culture”. Carrie has been at the BBC for more than 30 years –
On the Today programme Ms Gracie said it was the “scale of feeling” that moved her most. And the support she received “speaks for the depth and hunger for equal pay”.
BBC has made a pay offer. But Ms Gracie has turned it down because it contradicts the purpose of her resignation. More money does not mean equal pay for everyone
