This House on Tour – from February 2018. A lively and amusing look into the workings of British politics.
Following sell-out runs at the National Theatre and in the West End, James Graham’s critically acclaimed play will tour the UK from February 2018.
This is how it goes
Roll back to 1974. The corridors of Westminster ring with the sound of infighting and backbiting as Britain’s political parties battle to change the future of the nation, whatever it takes. In this hung parliament, the ruling party holds on by a thread.
James Graham’s biting, energetic play strips politics down to the practical realities of those behind the scenes. They roll up their sleeves, and on occasions bend the rules, to manoeuvre a diverse and conflicting chorus of MPs within the Mother of all Parliaments
Directed by Jeremy Herrin (People, Places & Things, Wolf Hall), This House gives us a timely, moving and often amusing insight into the workings of British politics.

From the play: A minority government? No I’ll give you more than a matter of weeks.
We are gloriously unique in this country not having a written constitution. What we do have our gentlemen’s agreement. This Parliament was once the seat of the democratic world. Now it’s the planets biggest jumble sale.
It’s so bloody typical. This self-destructive bloody country. Conservative Britain. As long as I am alright everyone else can go hang. As opposed to Labour Britain, yes it’s crap. But at least it’s equally crap for everybody. No not just dialogue. We’re going to meet the odds and sods as many as we can.
Time Out: Order, order your tickets now. The Times: A stroke of genius.
Evening Standard: A treat and a triumph, this is a superlative night out.
