Queen Elizabeth Prince Philip 70th Wedding Anniversary – new set of photos
Buckingham Palace has released new photographs to celebrate Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were photographed by Matt Hollyoak in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle in early November.
The Queen wore a cream dress designed by Angela Kelly. She has been the Queens dressmaker for the last 15 years. HM also wore a golden “Scarab” brooch was a gift from Prince Philip in 1966.
The couple will mark their platinum wedding anniversary privately with their children and grandchildren on Monday. A special toast and dinner celebration at Windsor Castle is planned. The guest list includes Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate and Prince Harry.
Queen and Prince Philip were married at Westminster Abbey. The bells will ring for more than three hours on Monday to mark the occasion.
Winston Churchill described the royal couple’s wedding in 1947 as a flash of colour on a hard road we travel.
When they married the monarch was 21. The Duke a 26-year-old sailor who served in the Royal Navy. The attraction was natural. Both made a good looking pair.
The couple will welcome their sixth great-grandchild in April next year.
The Queen and Prince Philip look great together. Their combined ages total nearly 200 years. Their special day will be quiet and with the family. This will include all the grand children.
Queen looks happy. She has a lovely smile on her face. The hairstyle remains the same.
