The camera overlooks Benarty Hill in Central Fife, and is located on the northern edge of the town of Lochgelly.

Amazing scenes.

Lochgelly is a town in Fife, Scotland. It is separated from Cowdenbeath by the village of Lumphinnans.

The little town’s name is Gaelic for ‘the bright water’. So, in Lochgelly there is plenty of water – it falls from the sky incessantly.

A regeneration programme began in 1999. Since then the town has transformed.

Lochgelly has won numerous awards. They include most recently the Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland’s Excellence in Regeneration Award 2010. It was sponsored by the Scottish Centre for Regeneration.

The community was very much involved from a very early stage.  Locals key to the successful delivery of the project.

Partners took on board a wide range of local residents’ and businesses’ views when development planned. Key to the project that the community could take ownership of the end product.

It seems to have worked. It is now a busy, buzzing town during working hours. The rest of the time is for relaxing
